Car Crashes Into Worcester Liquor Store

WORCESTER (CBS) -- It isn't quite business as usual at Kirsch Liquors in Worcester, but they are open for business after a car crashed into it early Friday morning.

"When I got here, I walked right through the front door and saw a complete disaster," says Mike Stoliker of Worcester.

Two cars collided at the corner of Madison and Main streets just before 1 a.m., sending one through the storefront. No one was hurt in the crash.

The store has security cameras in every corner so it was actually the alarm system that woke up owner Bob Kirsch. He could see the whole crash on his cell phone.

"I see a car in my store, so I got up and I got down here," he said. "It was an ungodly mess."

Luckily for Kirsch, he has a dedicated cohort ready to come help.

"We don't mess around," Stoliker says. "He calls, we work."

Stoliker doesn't even work for Kirsch, but he came to clean up anyway.

"He's a great guy," he said. "I'd do anything for him."

Police haven't made any arrests and the drivers did cooperate. From the surveillance video, it appears someone ran a red light but it's unclear who. With the exception of the store the car crashed into, alcohol isn't presumed to be a factor.
