MEDFORD (CBS) – A Medford Police officer who was placed on administrative leave after a video of him threatening a driver during a traffic stop went viral has resigned.

Officer Stephen LeBert was scheduled to appear at a disciplinary hearing on Thursday.

The hearing stemmed from an incident on July 26 when LeBert was caught on video telling a driver who said he was unfamiliar with the road he would “put a hole right through your head.”

LeBert had been placed on administrative leave with pay.

He will now be on leave without pay until his retirement papers are processed.
