BOSTON (CBS) — For Boston fans who want to see their beloved Bruins take on their biggest rival in this year’s Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium, they’ll have a chance later this month.

But they’ll have to act faster than a Zdeno Chara slapshot to secure their admission.

The NHL announced Monday that a select number of ticket packages for their signature outdoor game will go on sale on October 20 at 10am. The package for the Bruins-Montreal Canadiens Winter Classic, being held New Year’s Day at the home of the New England Patriots, will also include admission to the alumni game on New Year’s eve. Tickets will be in the same seat location for each game.

But fans wanting to grab a ticket package will have to act quick on that Tuesday morning, as tickets are available on a a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Tickets can only be purchased via Ticketmaster’s website.

This will be Boston’s second appearance in the NHL’s annual outdoor game. They played at Fenway Park on New Year’s Day in 2010, beating the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 in overtime.
