Charlie Brown Christmas Forever Stamps Set To Be Released

WASHINGTON (CBS) -- Christmas time isn't here yet, but the U.S. Postal Service is kicking off an early celebration of the holiday season with some special Charlie Brown stamps.

The Charlie Brown Christmas Forever stamps will be available on Thursday. A book of 20 stamps costs $9.80, and feature 10 still frames from the 1965 TV special "A Charlie Brown Christmas."

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the timeless classic. The Postal Service is releasing the commemorative stamps in early October because that's' when the Peanuts comic strip debuted in newspapers way back in 1950.
