Most Overrated Jobs Revealed In New Report

CARLSBAD, Calif. (CBS) -- Life in the advertising world apparently isn't as glamorous as "Mad Men" makes it out to be.

Job-hunting site CareerCast recently published "The Most Overrated Jobs of 2015," and advertising account executive leads the list despite a median salary of $115,750.

"High stress, competition for clients and for job opportunities make advertising account executive one of the most overrated careers," CareerCast says.

Another profession landing on the list because of the pressure involved is event coordinator.

"It's ranked as one of the most stressful jobs every year," an industry expert tells CareerCast.

Some might be surprised to see architects also getting the "overrated" label, but hiring and pay can depend a lot on economic factors, CareerCast says.

CareerCast's 8 Most Overrated Jobs:

Advertising Account Executive
Architect
Attorney
Broadcaster
Event Coordinator
Management Consultant
Public Relations Manager
Sales Representative (Wholesale)
