2 Drivers Hurt In Route 28 Rollover Crash In Avon

AVON (CBS) -- Police say two drivers were hurt in a Route 28 rollover crash in Avon early Saturday morning.

The crash occurred on Memorial Drive around 2:01 a.m. A car traveling north crossed the center line and struck another car traveling in the opposite direction, police say. The car traveling north went up on an embankment after striking a fence and rolled over.

The man driving the car that rolled over was pinned between the vehicle and pavement. After being freed, he was flown by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The woman driving the other car was taken to a local hospital by an ambulance. Her status is currently unknown.
