Second Arrest Made For Attempted Wellesley Home Invasion

WELLESLEY (CBS) – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with an attempted daytime home invasion in Wellesley.

On Wednesday just after 1 p.m., a Glen Road resident said there were two suspicious men outside her house. Initially, they rang her doorbell but she did not recognize the visitors and did not open the door.

While on the phone with police, the woman heard a loud noise coming from her garage and believed the two men had entered the property.

Lynn resident Christopher Chase was arrested the day of the incident. On Friday police announced that Patrick McGough, also of Lynn, had also been arrested.

McGough was charged with felony breaking and entering in the daytime, malicious destruction of property and conspiracy.

Police believe three people were involved in the attempted break-in.

Detectives watched video footage of a man who matches McGough's description speaking to a homeowner on Crestwood Drive prior to the Glen Road incident.

McGough was holding several items during that interaction that were later recovered near the scene of the Glen Road break-in, police said.

Wellesley Police detectives are continuing to investigate the home invasion.
