Wellesley Driver Run Over By Own Vehicle

WELLESLEY (CBS) -- A 70-year-old Wellesley man was medflighted to a hospital Monday morning after he was run over by his own vehicle.

Wellesley police said the driver had backed into a spot at the Recycling and Disposal Facility to unload contents, and attempted to engage the parking brake. After getting out of his vehicle, it started to roll forward.

The man tried to hold onto the door of the vehicle, but was knocked down as it continued to roll forward. He was then struck by the front tire, police said.

Wellesley police said two bystanders were able to move the vehicle and free the man.

The man suffered "suspected internal injuries." Police have not released any additional information.
