Roxbury Man Stabbed To Death In Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) -- Police say a 35-year-old Roxbury man was stabbed to death outside of a Cambridge convenience store early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the intersection of Pleasant Street and Massachusetts Avenue around 1:40 a.m. on a report of a stabbing. Tywann Jones was attacked while outside of the 7-Eleven on Massachusetts Avenue, according to a Cambridge police citywide alert.

Jones was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He underwent surgery and died around 4:40 a.m., authorities say.

During a press conference Saturday night, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan says Jones and the suspect may have known each other.

No arrests have been made in the case, which is being investigated by Cambridge and State Police through the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.
