Lawrence is known as “The Immigrant City”. Therefore, we can say that the well-being of immigrants is paramount to the city’s government. The Lawrence City Council recently approved the Lawrence Trust Act municipal ordinance, with hopes of improving the relationship between local law enforcement and the immigrant community. On this edition of Centro, WBZ’s Yadires Nova-Salcedo talks with Patricia Montes, Executive Director of the non-profit organization Centro Presente which spearheaded the effort, along with the Merrimack Valley Project and SEIU32bj. Tune in!
