Daily Talker: Controversial Comments

NFL Hall of Famer Cris Carter is coming under fire over a speech he and fellow Hall of Famer, Warren Sapp, gave at the NFL Rookie Symposium in 2014. During the speech at the league-sponsored event, Carter tells the rookies to get "a fall guy" in case they get into trouble with the law. He says, "Just in case y'all not going to decide to do the right thing, if y'all got a crew, you got to have a 'fall guy' in the crew."

The NFL is condemning Carter's comments, saying "The comment was not representative of the message of the symposium or any other league program. The league's player engagement staff immediately expressed concern about the comment to Cris."

Video of the speech was posted on the NFL's website, but it has since been taken down. It surfaced, after a recent ESPN the Magazine profile on ex-49ers linebacker, Chris Borland. In the interview, Borland mentions the speech and the comments Carter made.

We want to know what you think about this. Do these comments impact your view of the NFL? Do you think it points to any concerns about Roger Goodell's leadership as commissioner?
