NH Man Charged With DWI After Driving Toward I-93 Sinkhole
CONCORD, N.H. (CBS) – A New Hampshire man was arrested with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit after he allegedly drove around traffic cones to get onto Interstate 93 in Concord where a massive sink hole had developed.
New Hampshire State Police say Thomas Conner, 55, of Chichester, N.H., drove around the signs, traffic cones, and flags that were set up to stop drivers from going onto the roadway.
The highway was closed due to a large sinkhole that developed between exits 13 and 14.
Conner then allegedly approached the area of the sinkhole and berated several construction workers who he said were in his way.
Police approached Conner, and found that he was allegedly drunk.
After Conner was brought to the police station, he was given a breath test.
According to police, Conner had a blood alcohol content more than three times the legal limit of .08.
Conner was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and is scheduled to be arraigned in 6th Circuit Concord District Court on Sept. 4.
