Assault Victim Found Seriously Injured On Chelsea Street

CHELSEA (CBS) -- Police are hoping witnesses will come forward after a man was found seriously injured in Chelsea overnight.

Officers were called to Marlborough Street at 11:19 p.m. Sunday, where they found the victim in the roadway.

He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

He is currently in serious but stable condition.

The identity and age of the victim have not been released.

Police say they are confident the man was injured in an assault and not a motor vehicle accident.

Investigators say they hope a man who was seen with the victim will come forward and help identify the victim and the investigation.
