Boston Police Reunite Dog Found In South End With Owner

BOSTON (CBS) -- A dog found running around in the South End was picked up by two Boston police officers and later reunited with its owner.

The patrolwomen spotted the dog early Saturday morning.

The Labrador retriever had no collar, no identification, and its owner was nowhere to be found, police say.

"The officers were able to persuade the dog to go for a ride," Boston police said on their Facebook page on Sunday. "Dogs, unlike humans, apparently enjoy the back of police cars."

The officers were able to track down the dog's owner who had been searching frantically for hours for the pet.
