David Lee Shows His Appreciation For Warriors With Burritos

Whenever an athlete retires or leaves one team for another, they often like to show their appreciation for the city or team they are departing. This appreciation usually comes in the form of a thank you letter or ad in a newspaper or published on a website. In today's age, you even see these types of things written in "140 characters or less."
David Lee actually did all of the above for the Warriors' fans and his former teammates, but he decided to do something a little different for the Warriors' staff. After he was officially traded from the Golden State Warriors to the Boston Celtics earlier this week; Lee showed a little Tex-Mex love for #DubNation:
Yes, those are boxes of burritos from Chipotle Mexican Grill. Lee bought the meals for the Warriors' staff who work at team headquarters. Julie Phayer, who tweeted out the picture, is the Warriors' social media coordinator and she said it's not the first time Lee bought the staff burritos. She also later tweeted out the perfect hashtag for the occasion: #DAVIDGuacamoLEE
It's a nice gesture by Lee who went from a two-time All-Star to basically the 11th man for the Warriors this past year. It's also nice to see a pro athlete thanking the people behind-the-scenes as it's not just the basketball ops staff that enabled the team to get where it is today.
Lee should get much more playing time in Boston and his style of play will likely make him a fan favorite. His generosity should also make him well-liked within the Celtics' team headquarters. But after hearing this story, I'm sure there are some Celtics employees who are already looking forward to boxes of clam chowder were Lee to leave the Celtics.
