BOSTON (CBS) – Laser lights were aimed at two flights on their approach to Boston’s Logan Airport Wednesday night, officials said.

The FAA said it is investigating after “two flight crews reported being illuminated by lasers last night over Boston.”

The first jet, Air Canada flight 368, reported the laser at 9,000 feet, just two miles from the airport, at 10:39 p.m.

At 11:28 p.m., JetBlue flight 418 reported the laser at the same altitude and distance from the airport.

In May, a laser light was aimed at a medical helicopter flying to a Boston hospital.

Pilots told WBZ-TV at the time that lasers have the potential to temporarily blind them.
