SOMERVILLE, Mass. (AP) — Organizers of Boston’s bid for 2024 Summer Olympics are in a sprint to the finish.

This past weekend alone, volunteers fanned out to cultural festivals, farmer’s markets and sports events such as the Bay State Games at Tufts University on Saturday, where they handed out Boston 2024 wristbands and other freebies.READ MORE: Record Fall Warmth: An Unprecedented Autumn In New England
The private organization has yet launch a costly public relations campaign involving television and print advertisements though they say that’s still on the table. So far, they’re relying on online videos featuring former Olympians and famous Boston athletes like Red Sox slugger David Ortiz.
