Zo & Bertrand Revisit Red Sox Season Predictions

BOSTON (CBS) -- Predictions are always fun to make, and there are so many possible picks to make when it comes to Major League Baseball.

Zolak & Bertrand made a few predictions about the Boston Red Sox ahead of the season, and revisited some of them on Thursday.

As you can see, they were a little off on a few of their over/unders:

Over/Under Saves For Koji Uehara: 28.5

Zolak, Bertrand and Hardy all went under. Uehara has 22 saves at the break and is on pace for 40 on the season.

"Why are we doing this?" Hardy said while laughing.

"It's only fair to keep yourself honest," said Beetle. "We're a show based on accountability."

Over/Under Wins For Rick Porcello: 12.5

Zolak, Bertrand and Hardy all took the over, and were all very confident about it. But Porcello has just five wins on the season and is projected to finish with nine on the year.

"Zo said, 'Ace!' Oh boy, was that a bad prediction," said Beetle. "We're 0-for-2, and that one is not looking good."

"I think he still might get there," said Hardy.

Over/Under Total Wins For Clay Buchholz: 11.5

Bertrand and Zolak both took the under, while Hardy went with the over.

"If he's healthy, he's projected to have 13 wins. But he's on the DL, so it depends on how much time he misses," said Beetle. "This is a draw... We can't rule on that one."

Buchholz landed on the disabled list with elbow strain following his last start before the All-Star break.

Over/Under Home Runs For Mike Napoli: 19.5

All three hosts went with the over, with Zolak very confident. Napoli has 10 homers at the break, on pace to hit 18 on the season, but with a .193 average he may not be on the team for much longer.

"I think his roster spot is in jeopardy," said Beetle.

"If he's not striking out swinging on the most horrific pitch that not even you would swing at, then he's hitting a home run," said Hardy. "I can't believe he has 10 home runs."

Over/Under Home Runs For Xander Bogaerts: 14.5

Beetle predicted 20 homers from Xander, Hardy took the over and Zo took the under. At the break, Bogaerts has just three homers and is on pace to hit just five this season.

"This has been the one part of his game this year that has been lacking," said Beetle. "I expected a breakout year and we've gotten one, but it didn't happen with the home runs. I thought we'd see more power, and maybe that will come with time."

"Wow. We're not good," said Hardy. "We stink at predicting things."
