Rob Gronkowski Wins Comeback Player Of The Year ESPY

BOSTON (CBS) -- Rob Gronkowski picked up another trophy for his collection on Wednesday night.

The Patriots tight end won the ESPY for Comeback Player of the Year, returning from a torn ACL to put up monster numbers last season.

Gronkowski played 15 regular season games last year, getting a breather in Week 17, catching 82 passes for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns. He added 16 more receptions and three touchdowns in New England's postseason run to a Super Bowl XLIX victory, including six catches and a score in the Super Bowl.

"When you get knocked down, you put mind over matter and you do everything possible to get back to where you started," he said in his speech.

Gronkowski thanked his family, who was with him in the audience, Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft and Patriot Nation for supporting him during his lengthy list of surgeries over the last few years.

Patriots corner Malcolm Butler was up for Best Play of the Year for his game-winning interception in Super Bowl XLIX, but lost out to Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham.
