Party Boat Runs Aground Off Woods Hole

FALMOUTH (CBS) – A party boat ran aground off Woods Hole late Tuesday night.

The Coast Guard said 106 people were on board and there were no reports of any injuries.

The "Pied Piper" ran aground just after 10:30 p.m when it was returning to Woods Hole. All passengers on board were safely transported to a nearby dock in Woods Hole.

A worker at The Falmouth Raw Bar confirms the restaurant was hosting a "Booze Cruise" on the ferry Tuesday night.

The ship moved out on its own power early Wednesday morning, but it's still not clear what went wrong.

"The boat shook and we were stuck for a couple hours and the Coast Guard had to save us," one passenger said.

Others said the communication by the ship's staff was poor.

"Some guy came out and started yelling at everybody to be quiet," passenger Rob Maxwell said.
