HALIFAX (CBS) – Residents were uninjured though a driver was hospitalized after smashing into a Halifax home.

The crash happened on Elm Street just before midnight, leaving tire tracks in the home’s yard.

After the driver lost control of the car, the vehicle slammed through the home’s living room and came to a stop against the fireplace.

Residents of the home were not hurt.

The driver suffered unknown injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
