'The Rock' Sideswipes Wakefield Man's SUV

WAKEFIELD (CBS) -- It's hard to get mad about a fender-bender when "The Rock" is at fault.

That was the case when Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson sideswiped an SUV belonging to Audie Bridges of Wakefield.

The accident happened in early May, and Bridges had all but forgotten about it – until Monday, when Johnson posted a picture from that day on his Instagram account.

"He was a very easy guy to talk to," Bridges said. "He didn't seem like he was in a hurry to get out. I felt very comfortable with him."

Johnson said he was blasting music and having a "one man party" in his own truck when he heard a "BANG."

"He was very friendly about it," Bridges recalled. "He had his assistant take our picture - a really nice one that's on my Facebook page."

The minor crash took off the side mirror of Bridge's vehicle that was parked in the street. "And he said, 'I'll be sure and take care of it, just let me know how much it is,'" Bridges said.

Johnson said his first thought was, "someone's not gonna be happy."

"He could have just driven away," Bridges said. "I would have never known."

But it was no big deal to Bridges, after learning who was involved.

Bridges posted about the incident on his own Facebook page, saying that it happened on Chestnut Street on May 7.

"Guess who I ran into today…or should I say who ran into me?" he wrote.

Johnson said Bridges refused to accept any compensation for the damage and Johnson thanked him "for being so cool about the whole thing."

"Life is funny cause you never know who you're gonna run into... and sure as hell never know who's truck you're gonna sideswipe while driving to work," Johnson said.

"That's just a wonderful moment to have as I get older, a great story you know?" Bridges said.
