NEEDHAM (CBS) — Former principal of Needham High School Dr. Jonathon Pizzi had resigned amid allegations of unwanted sexual contact with another employee, the district’s superintendent revealed Friday.

Officials launched an investigation in May, only revealing it involved Pizzi’s workplace conduct.

Pizzi had been placed on administrative leave pending investigation of the complaint, but resigned shortly afterwards.

Pizzi refused to be interviewed as part of the district’s investigation, Superintendent Daniel E. Gutekanst said in a public statement Friday.

The complaint never involved students, according to the school district.
