BOSTON (CBS) – Police are investigating a suspicious death in Boston’s Seaport District.

A man in his 50s was found dead in a fifth floor condo at Fort Point Place on Wormwood Street. Boston Police say the man died of a gunshot wound, but the exact circumstances remain a mystery.

Crime scene technicians scoured the condo and the building’s basement dumpster for evidence.

Although the death has not been labeled a murder, Boston Police homicide detectives were at the building Tuesday afternoon. Commissioner William Evans also visited the building earlier in the day.

Residents told WBZ that the property managers sent them an email saying only that a death investigation was ongoing, and the building was safe.
