Boston firefighters were called to Washington Street at 7:30 p.m. for a report of a building fire. They saw the fire concentrated to the roof of the three-story building upon arrival.

The blaze then spread to the exterior of the complex and a neighboring three-story building. Commissioner Joseph Finn tweeted that both buildings had a total of nine apartment units and were occupied.

A firefighter was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

Fire officials say no civilians were hurt. Fifteen people were displaced, with some staying with friends and family, while others will receive assistance from American Red Cross.

The fire was put out by about 8:20 p.m. Firefighters then checked for hot spots.

Twitter user Mary Lynch captured video of the blaze:

Fire officials estimate that $750,000 in damage was done to the buildings.

Fire investigators are on scene, trying to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.
