Driver Trapped After Tree Falls On Car In Weston

WESTON (CBS) – A driver escaped serious injury when a tree fell on a car in Weston Thursday afternoon.

Weston Fire officials say the car was traveling on Newton Street when a large rotten beech tree split in half and landed on the car, trapping the driver inside.

Fire crews carefully cut branches away using chain saws and then used the Jaws of Life to remove the driver's door.

The victim, who was conscious and alert the entire time, was treated and transported to a Boston hospital.
