BOSTON – WBZ-TV News announced that Liam Martin will join Paula Ebben as co-anchor of the WBZ News at 10pm on myTV38. Martin will report for the station’s early evening and 11pm newscasts on WBZ Monday-Thursday. Martin will also co-anchor the WBZ News at 6:30 and WBZ News at 11 on Sunday nights with Kate Merrill. The hiring was announced today by Gary LaPlante, News Director at CBS Boston’s WBZ-TV and myTV38.
“We are excited to add one of the best reporters in Boston- and another Massachusetts native to our team of anchors. Liam has excelled covering big stories – and we look forward to his contributions both as an anchor and reporter.”
Martin says he is excited to join the team. “I grew up watching WBZ, and I’m now incredibly honored to join one of the more storied local news organizations in the country. I can’t wait to get started.”
Martin comes to WBZ from WCVB, where he recently covered the Aaron Hernandez trial for the station. He previously worked as an anchor and reporter at WILX in Lansing, Michigan. Martin grew up in Cohasset – and is a proud graduate of both Harvard University and Northwestern University.
