WEST NEWTON (CBS) — A Bolt bus caught fire while driving on the Mass. Pike eastbound in West Newton during the evening commute Monday.

The two right travel lanes were shut down while firefighters extinguished the blaze.

The bus was traveling from New York to Boston with 47 passengers on board. A spokesperson for the bus company says the driver noticed smoke, pulled over and evacuated the bus.

No one was injured and the customers were taken to Boston on another bus.

The road reopened at about 7:00pm.
