Toucher & Rich: Mike Gorman Not Writing Off Celtics Just Yet

BOSTON (CBS) -- Not many people gave the Celtics much of a chance against the Cavaliers, but Mike Gorman famously predicted that Boston would win their playoff series in six games.

Even with the Celtics facing an 0-2 series hole heading back to Boston for Thursday night's Game 3, Gorman still has confidence in the team.

"I would do it again," he told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich on Wednesday morning. "I'm still not willing to write the Celtics off in this series. [Game 2] was a one possession game with six minutes to go, and Boston was shooting 38 percent. I still don't think we've seen their best effort, and I think that will come on Thursday night.

"This is going to be one of the best nights of the year in the Garden, for sure," Gorman said of Game 3. "I'm not willing to back off my pick just yet."

Gorman admits that LeBron James has been a man among boys out there, averaging 25 points, 7.5 rebounds and seven assists per game, and wants to see the Celtics get a lot more physical on Thursday night.

"They were tougher last night than they were on Sunday, and they have to get tougher again at the Garden," he said. "The electric atmosphere should help them maintain that first half energy they had last night for a full 48 minutes. But when LeBron goes flying down the lane, someone has to step in and take a charge and commit, what I call, a 'playoff foul.'"

Gorman also shared his thoughts on Rajon Rondo's latest controversy in Dallas, and Paul Pierce being the leader of the Washington Wizards this postseason:
