Grousbeck, Celtics Hoping For Some Home Cooking In Game 3

BOSTON (CBS) --  The Boston Celtics head home, down 0-2 to the Cleveland Cavaliers in their first round playoff series, but make no mistake: despite the low expectations at the beginning of the season, they are not content with just being in the playoffs.

They aren't even content with taking a game or two from the heavily favored Cavs.

No, these Celtics want to win the series, and they remain confident they can do so with things now shifting to Boston for Games 3 and 4.

"It is frustrating. We're about winning and we're 0-2; you can't sugarcoat that," Celtics CEO and co-owner Wyc Grousbeck told WBZ-TV's Dan Roche on Wednesday. "But it's the best I can imagine feeling being 0-2. We want to win this series. We want to win Thursday and go from there. But I'm very proud of this team."

When asked what he likes about this team, Grousbeck's answer was simple.

"Everything," he said. "It's a team; a team that is practicing hard, playing with every amount of effort. Seeing a guy like Evan Turner get three rebounds in a row, guys making big shots to win games at the end of the regular season, [now seeing] guys go out and try to guard LeBron [James] and Kyrie [Irving], which is impossible. I'm very proud to be part of this team."

The Celtics put up a fight in both of their losses so far this series, but were clearly out-matched by Cleveland's star power. But now that they're heading home, and will have the fans on their side, Grousbeck is confident they'll get a victory on Thursday night.

"I was really hoping we'd be at least 1-1, but nonetheless, it's going to be a complete meltdown in [The Garden]," he said. "The fans are amazing, and we have a chance to win Thursday. They know it, and they're going to try and put us over the top. I can't wait; I'm literally counting the minutes."

Grousbeck isn't alone either. The players also feel that after their efforts in Games 1 and 2, they can beat the Cavaliers.

"I feel like we have a great chance winning Game 3," forward Jae Crowder said after Wednesday's practice in Waltham. "We've been in the games so I feel like we're due for a win now, especially in front of the home crowd. They're going to give us great energy."
