Armed Man Arrested At BMC Helipad Under Observation
BOSTON (CBS) -- A man arrested after he was found armed at the Boston Medical Center helipad Saturday is under observation.
The man, identified only as a New Hampshire resident, was apparently wearing body armor and carrying a gun. Police also found another weapon and additional bullet-proof vests in his car.
Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said the case is an isolated incident and not related to terrorism.
"He has emotional issues," said Evans. "We'll probably hold him for a while and get him the care he needs."
A Boston University special officer first spotted the suspect.
The man was arrested around 4:30 p.m. at the helipad, which is located at ground level.
