Dennis Port Man Rescued From Sinking Boat In Barnstable
BARNSTABLE (CBS) - Barnstable fire boat and U.S. Coast Guard crews rescued a Dennis Port man from a sinking boat Saturday night in Barnstable.
The Coast Guard responded after 8:15 p.m. They were called to help a boat taking on water, thought it was in Barnstable Harbor and that it was too shallow so they sought help from Barnstable's fire boat.
Officials say the sinking boat turned out to be further out.
A man was on the sinking 27-foot sailboat which had a hole in the hull, according to Barnstable Fire Captain Richard Ogonowski.
The 54-year-old man was taken to Cape Cod Hospital.
His condition is unknown.
