Jurors must reach a unanimous verdict.

Among the observers in court Monday was Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins. Hernandez mouthed to her: "I love you."

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty in the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating Jenkins' sister, Shaneah. Shaneah Jenkins was also in court Monday, sitting with Lloyd's family.

Hernandez's lawyer acknowledged Hernandez witnessed Lloyd's killing but said he didn't kill him.
