Iris Sonnenschein, the dog’s owner, told WBZ that Pooh, a combination Shih Tzu-poodle, was found on Saturday.

She says Animal Care and Control Animal Shelter in Roslindale called her between 2:30 and 3 p.m. after a Boston man dropped off a dog that matched Pooh’s description.

After picking up the dog, Sonnenschein got him a new leash and collar.

Sonnenschein says she is thankful for the help she received finding her beloved dog.

Erika, a dog walker, told WBZ that her Subaru was stolen with Pooh sleeping inside while she tended to another dog inside a West Roxbury home.
