Sex Offender Accused Of Trying To Lure Cohasset Girl Into Car

COHASSET (CBS) - A 44-year-old Level 2 Sex Offender is being held without bail thanks to the sharp eye of a 10-year-old Cohasset girl.

On Thursday, the girl was walking home from school, when a driver pulled over, opened the door of his car, and said, "You need a ride, sweetheart?" The girl ran home, told her mother, then gave a very accurate description to police of the car, and the man.

Police then posted the description on their Facebook page and did a "reverse 911". The result was a flood of phone calls, telling police the man's description and the car matched a newspaper deliveryman.

Michael Wynn of North Attleboro was arrested at his home within 24 hours.

"The girl's description was very thorough and accurate," said Cohasset Police Sgt. Michael Lopes. "Our detectives then put it on Facebook and the tips came flying in."

Wynn was deemed a Level 2 Sex Offender after being convicted of possessing child pornography in 2010.
