AMESBURY (CBS) – Police are looking for a suspect following an home invasion Saturday in Amesbury.

Officers were called to Claire Road around 6 p.m.

After an elderly woman answered the door, the suspect forced way his way into the home.

Police say the woman was roughed up and upset. She was not hurt during the incident.

Several items were stolen from the home including credit cards.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot-2-inch-tall man, with a thin build, receding hairline and wearing a scally cap.

Neighbors say Claire Road is a quiet street, adding that they are surprised by what happened.

A canine search of the neighborhood turned up nothing.

Investigators say they think the suspect might be in the Haverhill-Lawrence area.
