Nurses Help Boston Children's Hospital Patient Celebrate Late Halloween
BOSTON (CBS) – Halloween came in March for one young Boston Children's Hospital patient.
A young boy named Drew is battling Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a rare blood disease, and was unable to celebrate Halloween last October as he received treatment.
To make it up to him, the nurses in his wing at Boston Children's threw him a Halloween party.
During the celebration, the staff dressed up in costumes and brought pumpkin balloons to Drew, who donned a Spiderman costume for the occasion.
Only four out of every 1 million children are diagnosed with MDS.
In a Facebook post, Boston Children's Hospital called Drew a "very special patient (and superhero)."
