Video Shows Chicopee Police Officer Choking Woman During Arrest

BOSTON (CBS) – New video shows a controversial arrest in Chicopee.

Maylene Maldonado filed a lawsuit claiming she was the victim of police brutality when she was arrested in February of 2013.

In the newly released surveillance video, an officer puts Maldonado in a choke-hold after repeatedly asking her to calm down.

Former Sgt. Daniel Major has resigned from the Chicopee Police Department and is facing assault charges in connection with the incident.

Maldonado was arrested for assaulting a police officer and admitted to smoking PCP and drinking alcohol.
