Rochester Construction Worker Airlifted After Being Impaled By Metal Bar
ROCHESTER (CBS) – A Rochester construction worker was transported by helicopter to a Rhode Island hospital after he fell and was impaled by a metal reinforcement bar.
Dispatch received a 911 call at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning reporting that a 62-year-old man on Cranberry Highway had been seriously injured.
The incident took place at the new construction site for Zero Waste Facility.
First responders found a man had fallen, was impaled by the rebar and was trapped at the construction site.
Additional crews were called in from Wareham EMS to extricate the man.
A MedFlight helicopter arrived in the area to bring the man to Rhode Island Trauma Center.
Police said they do not know the man's current condition after the fall.
