Play Ball! Red Sox Open Spring Schedule With College Double-Header

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Red Sox will be playing some actual baseball on Tuesday, as they kick off their spring slate of games with their annual double-header against Northeastern and Boston College down in Fort Myers, Florida.

Many of the regulars will play against Northeastern at 1:05 p.m., with newcomers Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval making their unofficial Red Sox debuts. Here is the lineup for Game 1 against the Huskies:

1. Mookie Betts, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. David Ortiz, DH
4. Hanley Ramirez, LF
5. Pablo Sandoval, 3B
6. Mike Napoli, 1B
7. Shane Victorino, RF
8. Xander Bogaerts, SS
9. Christian Vazquez, C

On the mound, Clay Buchholz will get the start with Rick Porcello expected to follow.

Mostly backups and prospects will play against Boston College, which will start roughly 30 minutes following the game against Northeastern. Wade Miley gets the start on the hill, with both Ryan Hanigan and Blake Swihart expected to get some play behind the plate against the Eagles.

Both of Tuesday's games will only go seven innings.

Each member of the BC Eagles will be wearing the same uniform on Tuesday, sporting a No. 3, Frates jersey in honor of Pete Frates, the former BC outfielder who is battling ALS.

Frates inspired the Ice Bucket Challenge, which helped raise over $100 million for the ALS over the summer.
