Beers: Bruins Not Done Making Moves

BOSTON (CBS) -  The Boston Bruins are on the clock to improve their roster heading into the postseason and before Monday's 3pm trade deadline.

Bruins color analyst Bob Beers spoke on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Zolak and Bertrand to discuss potential moves for Boston.

"I'm not sure that they're done right now. I don't think that they are," said Beers.

The Bruins have already made one deadline deal-- trading two second-round picks to Tampa Bay for forward Brett Connolly.

"He's a guy with enormous potential, but he just hasn't realized it yet for whatever reason down in Tampa. It's up to them as an organization to get this guy and keep this guy going in the right direction," said Beers.

Beers noted that the Bruins placed right wing Craig Cunningham on waivers, which frees up another roster spot for a potential deal. The Bruins could add another roster player via trade before the deadline, as the B's have 22 players inked on a 23-man roster.

"I don't believe that they're done yet. I've got to believe that this frees up for a current roster player to be moved. If they finished right now, they're going to play Montreal in the first round. That's an awfully tough matchup for the Bruins," said Beers.

"Every contender in the Eastern Conference has made a significant move going forward. Everyone in the East sees the East as a wide open conference that can be won by anybody."
