Krug: Bruins Not Dwelling On Krejci Injury

BOSTON  (CBS) - For the second time this season, Bruins top-line centerman David Krejci will be out for an extended period of time due to injury.

The team learned that it will be without David Krejci for four to six weeks, after the forward suffered a partially torn MCL in his left knee during Friday night's loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Krejci, 28, has seven goals and 19 assists in 38 games played this season. He missed a month-and-a-half — save for one game — in November and December due to injury.

98.5 The Sports Hub's Zolak & Bertrand were joined by Krejci's teammate Torey Krug Tuesday morning in the TD Garden Pro Shop Studio, who weighed in on the temporary loss.

"Everyone knows when Krejci came back what it did for out team, when he came back from that initial injury. He's a big loss for us. But with the guys that fill in, we have the confidence in anybody that can step up and do that," Krug said. "He's a big part of our team. But we're not going to sit here and sulk because we have a job to do."

This injury comes days after the news of defenseman Kevan Miller being lost for the season with a shoulder injury, and now Gregory Campbell is dealing with an upper body injury that will sideline him for at least a week.

Bad things are happening in bunches.

"It's not fun, especially when you look at the picture of your team and you want to put the best group out there to compete and win hockey games, and when guys go down it's not fun. On top of that they are your close buddies and friends, and going through all the injury stuff it's not fun to be them," said Krug. "Like I said: we're not going to sit here and sulk. We have a job to do and we don't have much time to make sure we capture our game."

The Bruins look to build off their 6-2 Blackhawks win and continue to keep Florida at bay Tuesday night at TD Garden against Vancouver.

Earlier in the program, Zo and Bertrand spent a good portion of the show discussing the Krejci injury more in depth, and how his loss will impact both the team and the front office decision-making with the trade deadline approaching.
