BOSTON (CBS) – Dr. Robert Stern at Boston University’s Alzheimer’s disease Center is working on The Noble Study to try to find ways to slow changes in the brain.

There hasn’t been a new drug approved for Alzheimer’s since 2003.

Dr. Stern tells WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Diane Stern, for now, there might be some things we can do to try to keep our brains healthy.

“The most robust finding has to do with exercise,” Dr. Stern says. “Whether it’s just walking a few days a week increases the brain’s health and prevents destruction of brain tissue as we age.”

Dr. Stern also says social networking helps keep the brain healthy.
