The DA says the victims arrived to work in the same car, and were stabbed in the arms and hands. The victims were both hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say Sparks fled the scene and went a block and a half away to Forest Avenue, where police confronted him. When officers approached him, they saw that he was holding a handgun.

Police say Sparks refused to comply with the officers’ orders and shots were fired by the officers. Sparks was transported to Saints Memorial Hospital in Lowell where he was pronounced dead.
