Volunteers Don Ice Suits To Herd Group Of Disoriented Dracut Ducks
DRACUT (CBS) – Animal rescuers wore ice suits as they herded a large group of ducks who were unable to get home after being chased through a narrow culvert.
A group of 30 domestic ducks and one goose fled from their Dracut farm. The farm owner believes a fox chased the birds, but they escaped through the culvert and were unharmed.
But after coming out on the other side atop a frozen stream, the birds were disoriented and unable to return home.
Members of the Animal Rescue League set up snow fencing to stop the ducks and goose from going further downstream.
The volunteers then donned ice suits and herded the group back to their farm.
