NHL Fines P.K. Subban For Diving

BOSTON (CBS) -- If you heard the collective voice of millions of people in Boston screaming "Finally!" then at least now you know why.

Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban was fined $2,000 by the NHL for diving/embellishing during a game against the New York Rangers on Jan. 29.

Subban had previously been warned about diving after his actions in a game against Tampa Bay in early January, so the second infraction drew a fine.

Granted, the $2,000 fine won't set back Subban too much (he signed an eight-year, $72 million contract this past offseason), but it at least puts his diving antics on the record.

Of course, that record has existed on YouTube for years, as evidenced by his most famous work:

But now, at least, people beyond the Bruins fan base have an official record of Subban's diving.

Here's what Subban did to earn the fine:

Not exactly his most egregious work, but perhaps the fact that the league is taking notice will limit such behavior in the future.
