Impending Snow Delays Boston Marathon Trial

BOSTON (AP) — Jury selection in the trial of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is suspended Monday because a snowstorm is expected.

Around a foot of snow was forecast. Proceedings are scheduled to resume Tuesday. They also were postponed during last week's blizzard.

More than 100 prospective jurors have been questioned in the federal case.

Three people were killed and more than 260 were injured when two bombs exploded near the marathon finish line in 2013.

The 21-year-old Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty. He is charged with 30 federal crimes, including 17 that carry the possibility of the death penalty.

Prosecutors say he and his older brother Tamerlan carried out the attack to retaliate against U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tamerlan died after a shootout with police days later.
