When the ultimate queen of pop speaks, we all listen…for the most part. In an Australian interview, pop icon Madonna named Taylor Swift as the princess of pop music, saying “I like Taylor Swift. I think she writes some really catchy pop songs.”
Could Taylor Swift be the next Madonna sans controversial songs?
Who knows? But Swift was beyond excited by the compliment, taking to her Tumblr page to respond: “Thanks, now I’m dead”
The pop punk band that spoke to a generation of teens and young adults lost a band member this week when Tom Delonge quit the band Blink-182. In a frenzy of open letters and interviews, it seems that Tom DeLonge is no longer part of the band despite his posting on Instgram stating: “I never quit the band.”
His band members Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, on the other hand, told Rolling Stone, that DeLonge is out of Blink-182 “indefinitely.”
There is a lot of he-said, he-said with this story, making it difficult to get down to the bottom of it all, but for now, it seems one of America’s favorite bands isn’t getting back together anytime soon.

A few commercials in particular have generated a good amount of buzz and anger. For instance, there’s GoDaddy’s commercial featuring a lost puppy who is returned home only to be sold on GoDaddy website.
That “Ghostbusters” sequel/remake/prequel/reboot we’ve all been waiting on has finally found its lead actors, and they’re all female. This week, actors Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and SNL members Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon were announced as the leads in the Paul Fieg-directed comedy.
Fieg took to Twitter to make the announcement, much to the delight (and anger) of moviegoers.
This is the second collaboration between Wiig and Fieg after the comedy hit “Bridesmaids,” which many could argue holds the current number one spot for funniest movie of the decade.
The daughter of iconic comedian Joan Rivers filed a lawsuit this week stating that while Rivers was sedated in a Manhattan clinic, unauthorized procedures were performed on her, and a selfie was taken of her while her vital organs shut down.
Melissa Rivers filed the lawsuit in Manhattan State Supreme Court stating that her mother deserved better.
