Overturned Tanker Spills Nearly 900 Gallons Of Heating Oil In Melrose
MELROSE (CBS) -- An overturned tanker was leaking heating oil in Melrose Monday morning.
The tanker rolled over onto its side at about 5:45 a.m. near 37 Howard St. The cause of the accident was likely black ice, firefighters said.
Melrose fire officials said about 800 to 900 gallons were unaccounted for and may have spilled into catch basins. M-Pro, a private contracting company, is working to clean up the spill.
The driver of the tanker suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
