Man Accused Of Killing Three Neighbors In North Andover

NORTH ANDOVER (CBS) -- A 57-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder after three men were found dead in a public housing development for the elderly in North Andover on Tuesday.

Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said police responded to 10 Foulds Terrace just after 9 a.m. for a report of a man face down requiring assistance. Officers discovered a total of three men dead, each in their own apartments within the same building.

"They all appear to have suffered from blunt force trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene," Blodgett said in a statement.

The victims were identified as Walter Hamilton, 78; George Kettinger, Jr., 79; and a third 68-year-old man whose name is being withheld pending family notification.

Police arrested 57-year-old Salvatore Guglielmino, who lives in the same building as the three victims, and charged him with murder. Guglielmino is expected to appear in Lawrence District Court on Wednesday.

The suspect's mother and uncle live in the same complex. They say he is bipolar and doesn't remember what happened.

"I was in shock, you know my whole family is in shock," Angelo Guglielmino, the suspect's uncle said. "Everybody's devastated, his brothers, his sister his mother, we can't believe it."

Foulds Terrace is a 52-unit public housing development for elderly and disabled people.

Neighbors told WBZ-TV that they were shocked by the discovery in what's usually a quiet neighborhood.

"This is not surprising," said Nellie Torrisi. "It is shocking."

Neighbor Pat Lyons was a friend of Kettinger Jr. for more than 15 years. "He was a hard working electrician," Lyons said. "He was very helpful to everyone in that senior citizen complex. Just a nice man."
